I just finished my first painting of the year!

YES! I’m back in the game!

My first painting of the year! I’m very pleased with the finished piece.

My color studies have made a HUGE difference in the quality of the color that I’m using. (I’ll write a post later on the color work that I’ve been doing.) Plus I painted much faster than ever. I didn’t have to spend my time trying to figure out how to mix the colors. YES! Rather, I simply referred to my color swatches.

Excited to see the hours and hours I spent mixing a bazillion colors is paying off!

Now to let it dry… And on to the next…

My palette and tools. I was able to paint one painting with one mixing palette for the first time. I’m making progress!

For this painting my color palette included French Ultramarine, Cobalt Blue, Permanent Rose, Alizarin Crimson, Cadmium Red, Cadmium Lemon, Yellow Deep, Yellow Ochre Pale, Viridian and Titanium White.
